Lead, Kindly Light!

How much we need the guiding hands of our heavenly Father in each step we take! This beautiful song written by Cardinal John Henry Newman more than 170 years back is my prayer even today.

Lead, Kindly Light

Lead, kindly Light, amid the encircling gloom,
Lead Thou me on!
The night is dark, and I am far from home—
Lead Thou me on!
Keep Thou my feet; I do not ask to see
The distant scene—one step enough for me.

I was not ever thus, nor prayed that Thou
Shouldst lead me on.
I loved to choose and see my path; but now,
Lead Thou me on!
I loved the garish day, and, spite of fears,
Pride ruled my will: remember not past years.

So long Thy power hath blessed me, sure it still
Will lead me on,
O'er moor and fen, o'er crag and torrent, till
The night is gone;
And with the morn those angel faces smile
Which I have loved long since, and lost awhile.

Weekend

Happy Weekend! Today I thought of scribbling something on the blog. However, I changed my mind. At home you have so many things to do especially when you are alone. All the pending personal activities during the weekdays are awaiting and are still sitting on your head :) . My sister Madiki called up from Aizawl in the morning. She said her daughter Angelina is now 5 kilos :)  Later on, just after I finished my lunch, another sis Awmawmi called up. We discussed about placements activities in TISS, especially in MSW and the present issues faced by the students. In between Pu Thuama called up and told me that he had sent a circular  to media at Aizawl. The circular was meant to be an advice to the Mizos in general and the young ladies in particular to watch out for possible cheats, especiallly when it comes to job offers relating to hotel industry. Late in the evening I went to Balaji Auto and left my car there for 'check up' to make sure that by tomorrow it should be in a healthy condition to take me to the Church which is around 35 KMs from home.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni!

Mahendra Singh Dhoni's Autograph

It was a pleasant surprise when I saw the famous Indian Wicket-keeper batsman, Mahendra Singh Dhoni coming out from Mumbai Domestic Airport yesterday afternoon. He is one of the greatest batsmen from the Indian soil. He was ranked world number 1 batsman in April 19, 2006 ranking of ICC for One Day Internationals (ODI). Presently, he is ranked 8th and is the only Indian batsman in the top 10. Among the bowlers Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan are presently in the 9th and 10th position, respectively.

I was waiting for an official guest, Executive Director from the World Bank when Dhoni came out. I approached him and shook hand with him telling him that it was a pleasant surprise to meet him. He tried to take a look at the placard in my hand, the name written there was Mr.Dhanendra Kumar, World Bank. I told him the placard was meant for another guest whom I was waiting and I was there to take his autograph. He gave me a big grin and gave me his autograph (the one you see above). He came from Delhi to Mumbai to have a shooting for some advertisements. Our driver later told me that he's heading for Taj Lands End, Bandra in a Toyota Innova car no 5510 : ).

Delhi Mizo Worship Service

With friends @ Delhi Mizo Fellowship

Its more than four years now since I last attended this worshp service. I'm really happy I could find time to attend the service once again. Gods grace. Pu Thangmawizuala led the service and Rev.Vanlalbela discussed the theme of the worship. It was nice to see again Pu Chuanga, Pi Sangteii, Nu Mawiteii, U Ruata and U Rozami, Chhandama and his family, U Rema, Kuki and all my friends whom I had known for years. I'm also glad to meet some of my friends from Aizawl, who came from Aizawl for training, along with John Mapuia, like sawta, Zari and John L.T.Sanga. Mami (in the pic) is one of their colleagues.

A computer savvy...the first person to greet me when I reached their place and the first thing he said was " I was waiting for you to play Spiderman games with"..During my stay there he used to wait for me in the morning until I got up and then he will choose his games....spiderman, contra, super mario etc...I'd never had fun like that in my life with a kid.....miss you buddy!

On Sunday, Jeremy (Vice President of the House), Zizi, Mary and Mami dropped me till the airport. I'm really grateful to them all.

Met old friends at Delhi. Some friends who are now at State Civil Service were on training at IIPA. Sangzuali is an old classmate since class 5. John Mapuia and I used to be together at Shillong during 1993-95 and and at Delhi later on when I was in the University. Zizi and I took them out on saturday evening. It was a kind of mall hopping and its fun; we covered part of north eastern Delhi, and later on we went to Khan Market to purchase car accessories for Mapuia .
